Lorna Radford,
Managing Director of Enkos Developments and in-cosmetics Global Official Technical Advisor

Lorna has a First Class Master’s degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and an SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science for which she was awarded the highest ever mark. She is also the winner of the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Young Achiever Award 2018 and a member of the Society of Cosmetics Scientists (SCS) council and education committee. She is the founder of Enkos Developments and, with her English-Korean heritage and expertise in cosmetic science, Lorna is an acknowledged specialist in K-Beauty. As such, she is regularly invited to deliver technical and trends presentations to beauty industry organisations and gives practical science-based advice to consumers and helps demystify the jargon surrounding ingredients and products. 

Dr. Andrea Mitarotonda,
PhD CChem FRSC

Andrea holds a PhD in Polymer & Colloid Chemistry, an MSc in Industrial & Applied Chemistry and has been awarded the status of Fellow (FRSC) and Chartered Chemist (CChem) by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Andrea has devoted his professional life to the cosmetic & personal care industry, working for manufacturers of speciality ingredients and finished products. In fact, since 1998, he has been covering roles in R&D, Innovation and Formulation Technology in multinational Companies such as Oriflame R&D, Neal’s Yard Natural Remedies, Dow Corning, Lamberti Chemical Specialties, Intercos and 3M. Andrea is an independent consultant.

Hugo Tanner,
Innovation Raw Material Manager, L'Oréal

Hugo is a physico chemical scientist who specialises in emulsions and dispersions. He started his career by developing new thermo-sensitive capsules for the fragrance industry and then worked for Chr Hansen where he developed natural colours for the food industry. He joined L’Occitane group in 2014 where he was in  charge of creating new galenics for the group – in particular skincare, suncare and hygiene products. He then joined L’Oréal in 2017 as International Innovation Raw Material Manager, Polymer Category. In January 2023, Hugo took up a new position within L’Oréal in the Green Science transformation division in order to help the company brands achieve L’Oréal for the future 2030 targets.

Lise Sorel,
Sustainability Project Leader - Shiseido EMEA

Lise Sorel loves science and it is therefore quite natural that her steps led her to cosmetic formulation laboratories. From suncare to perfumes and tinted products to skincare, she has acquired a solid expertise in the technique and development of a product, with more sustainability conscious, natural, local sourcing. This natural formulation background and the fact that she has been immersed in sustainability has led her to work today as a Sustainability Project Leader at Shiseido’s Europe Innovation Center to contribute to tomorrow's products with a focus on innovation and consumer satisfaction. 

Luis Allo,
Director External Innovation, Johnson & Johnson

Luis began his career as a Mechanical Engineer at Procter & Gamble before moving on to Novartis and Johnson & Johnson roles. His strong ability for complex problems and growth mindset have allowed him to pivot his career a few times. Currently, he is working in R&D for Johnson & Johnson, where he has been for the past 15 years. In this role, he manages large global projects and focuses on early-stage partnerships for new technologies in OTC - including digital products. In addition to this, Luis recently took on additional responsibility as chief of staff for EMEA R&D.

Nelly Girard,
Formulation Project Manager, Laboratoire Nuxe

Nelly is a formulation project manager at Laboratoire Nuxe, a French cosmetics group distributed in pharmacy in France and abroad. Nelly is a graduate of a Master in Sensory Analysis and Cosmetic Product Formulation. She joined the Nuxe research and development teams 17 years ago after completing a 5-month brief with a manufacturer of natural raw materials. Nelly's has multiple fields of expertise with a varied palette of galenics/textures, from emulsion to micellar lotion, including make-up, hygiene products and sunscreen products. She designs and formulates new products, manages the process of scaling up to industrialization in conjunction with the industrial transposition team.

Seongmin (Mike) Sohn,
CEO & Representative Consultant, REACH24H Consulting Group, Korea

Mike manages a global regulation compliance consulting service including chemicals, cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals as well as market research globally. He has experience in beauty, beauty devices and pharmaceuticals. He has contributed to many interviews, TV programs, magazines and reports as KOL of the market. Mike also wrote the “K-wave white paper 2018 and 2019” and co-authored the industry analysis and forecast. He believes that trends, regulations and market shifts should go together.

Wolfgang Naehr
Senior Manager Formula Innovation at La Prairie, Switzerland.

Wolfgang’s professional career in the beauty business started at Schwan Stabilo Cosmetics. These early stages his career inspired him to learn more about Chemistry, Formulation Technology & Polymer Chemistry behind the products. His studies at UAS OWL in Germany culminated with the thesis at Beiersdorf in Prototyping Hair Care. Afterwards, he spent three years working for different third-party manufacturers across Germany & Switzerland, before joining La Prairie in 2012 as Industrialisation Manager. At La Prairie he oversees Innovations in Formulation Technology, with a focus on luxurious & transformative textures, visual & vectorised particles, and enhanced delivery systems.

Amarjit Sahota,
Founder, Ecovia Intelligence

Mr. Sahota is the founder of Ecovia Intelligence, which has been encouraging sustainable development in the food, cosmetic & related industries since its formation in 2001. For over two decades, he has undertaken research & consulting for a wide range of clients that range from multinationals, government organizations, to dedicated green companies. Mr. Sahota has degrees in Applied Chemistry and Management Science, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. Mr. Sahota has co-authored a number of books on sustainability and green products. He is editor of Sustainability: Greening of the Cosmetics Industry (Wiley & Sons)

Jean-Florent Campion,
Sustainable Development Manager, L’Oréal

Jean-Florent currently works in the Research and Innovation department at L’Oréal and is in charge of sustainable reporting and transversal expertise. He has a long history of pursuing sustainability and environmental responsibility and he is one of the founding members of the sustainable development team. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable development over the years and has contributed to L’Oréal’s significant progress in reducing its environmental impact and improving the social benefits of its products through several programs such as “Sharing beauty with all” and ‘L’Oréal for the future”.

Judi Beerling,
MBA, C.Chem. MRSC Pertech Associates Ltd / Ecovia Intelligence

Judi runs a formulation laboratory and consultancy and has spent much of the last 16 years sharing her knowledge of the evolving area of natural product formulation, ingredients and sustainability. She previously worked in the fragrance industry in various Innovation roles. She holds an MBA from the Open University Business School and is a Chartered Chemist. On behalf of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists (UK & Ireland) she acted as the Steering Committee Chair for the highly successful 32nd IFSCC Congress in London, 2022. Judi was awarded an IFSCC Fellowship at the London Congress in recognition of her services to the Federation.

Robin Parker,
R&D Director, THG Labs

Robin Parker is the R&D Director of THG Labs, a UK manufacturer of premium skin care, hair care and toiletries. Robin began his career as a formulator with Max factor and has subsequently worked with a number of UK based contract manufacturers developing and supplying products to most of the UK’s high street retailers and many well-known brands. Working as a supplier to many diverse brands requires THG Labs to offer innovation across a wide area of expertise, one of the most important being natural and environmentally sensitive raw material sourcing. Robin is a Past President of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists and currently sits on two of the CTPA committees.

Tom Hornshøj-Møller,
Technical Consultant

Tom Hornshøj-Møller has a Master in Technical Chemistry and, since graduation, has always been working in R&D no matter the type of business. For the last 20 years the headline has been cosmetics and, for the last 15 years, the main focus has been natural/organic cosmetics. Due to his vast experience within the field he has made several presentations/lectures on the behalf of Ecocert as well as Cosmos. For the last 4 years he's been acting as independent consultant assisting cosmetic companies in the field of formulation.

Dr. Awanthi De Silva,
NPD Lead (Senior Chemist), Moorebank aerosol fillers

Awanthi obtained her PhD from UOW, Wollongong in Australia, is published in peer reviewed material journals & is a reviewer for RSC journals. During her 18+ years tenure in R&D with manufacturers, research institutes, universities & luxury brands, she has developed 100+ new formulation types to commercialization ranging from personal care to cosmetics, fine fragrance, aerosols to therapeutic hydrogels. She is currently the NPD Lead (Senior Chemist) for Moorebank aerosol fillers and an independent R&D consultant.

Rouah Al Wakeel,
Director of RAW Cosmetics Limited

Rouah Al Wakeel completed her degree in Pharmaceutical Science then went on to study the SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science. She has over ten years of experience working as a formulator, product and project manager and scientific advisor within the industry. She is the director of RAW Cosmetics which offers advice and implementation to companies and brands looking to upscale and develop in-house manufacturing facilities; in addition to product development. Since 2018, having worked at both in-cosmetics Global and in-cosmetics Asia, Rouah is the official in-cosmetics R&D Tour Leader and scientific consultant.

Stacey Fraser (DipFormChem),
Co-Founder, Products Director, SAGE COLLECTIVE

With more than 20 years’ experience in the beauty and cosmetics industry, Stacey understands the importance of ingredient selection, packaging, branding, consumer expectations and sustainability. Stacey is a Design Practice Teaching Fellow for the School of Product Design at University of Canterbury and a board member at Cosmetics New Zealand and is highly connected in the ingredients and formulations industries. She is passionate about following curiosity, anticipating trends and acknowledging sustainability. 

Fanny Coste,
Head of R&D, Trinny London

Fanny is Head of R&D at Trinny London, one of Europe’s fastest-growing beauty brands with a truly international reach. Prior to that, she was the owner of Cosmebiome Ltd, a consultancy specialising in the development of sustainable beauty products and the founder of Kinkō, a personal care brand that balances the skin microbiome. She gained 20+ years of experience in the cosmetic industry in Europe (UK, France and Norway), Japan and the US. She holds an MSc. in Cosmetic Science from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Université Paris-Saclay and an MSc. in Bioengineering from Université de Technologie de Compiègne. 

John Jimenez,
Senior Researcher, Belcorp

John Jiménez is a pharmacist from the National University of Colombia with a Master's in sustainable development and specialization studies in marketing, cosmetic science and neuromarketing. He is a prolific writer, having contributed to 30 publications worldwide and he has received countless, prestigious industry awards. He also speaks at various international conferences in Europe and Latin America. He joined Belcorp in 2005 and is currently serving as Senior Researcher for skincare, suncare and personal care categories.

Kilala Tilaar,
CEO, Martha Tilaar Group

In addition to being its CEO, Kilala Tilaar is also the Chairman of Corporate Creative and Innovative of the Martha Tilaar Group, one of the largest natural beauty companies in Indonesia.  He focuses the Group’s research activities on natural, organic, halal and sustainable products based on the richness of Indonesia’s biodiversity and marine resources.  He also actively published scientific journals on cosmetics ingredients and received more than 30 cosmetics ingredients patents.

Muriel Pujos,
Technical and Scientific Director, Skin Care, Coty Monaco

Muriel Pujos is head of active ingredients innovation for the new developments & innovation at Coty from skin to sun, make-up & body. She is also responsible for the scientific communication of Lancaster, COVERGIRL Skincare, Philosophy, etc. A Doctor in Pharmacy, she has spent the past 25 years applying her visionary scientific approach and expertise turning clinical science into exceptional, everyday beauty care with a focus on skin ageing, sun damage and make up. 

Olivia Pichoutou,
Project Manager Innovation & Formulation, Chanel

Olivia has been an innovation engineer in make-up formulation at Chanel for 6 years. Prior to that, she worked for a pigment manufacturer, a subcontractor and as a technical or marketing project manager for a brand for 9 years. Ms Pichoutou likes the dynamism of the cosmetics industry and she is passionate about the challenge of always offering new sensoriality or new make-up results. Olivia is interested in innovative ingredients that meet sustainable development goals. Her inspiration stems from her initial training in Biochemistry, her travels - especially in Asia or from her scuba diving hobby.

Pilar Ramírez,
Cosmetic Scientist, Tolentina Consulting

Pilar is a cosmetic scientist who is passionate about new trends and new raw materials. She worked for Kimberly Clark Mexico for eight years as a Formulation R&D Leader. She was responsible for the development and implementation of new personal care products. With more than twelve years’ expertise, she understands that every step of a new product launch is very important. With all the experience she has gained and her enthusiasm for cosmetic science, she is now focusing on Research & Consulting for Indie Brands. She is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SQCM) in Mexico.

Ranelle Anderson,
Technical Director and Co-Founder, Ausmetix Pty Ltd

A graduate from Melbourne’s Monash University with a degree in Formulation Science with a placement in France, Ranelle has been formulating for the past 15 years. She began in the dermatology industry working for GSK before crossing over to the cosmetics industry. With a focus on innovative skincare formulation and development, Ranelle approaches work with sincerity and ethical consideration for both client and consumer at Ausmetix, a personal care manufacturing/consultancy company based in Australia.

Veronique Chavardes,
Director, Yanbal International

Veronique has been working in the field of colour and makeup for more than thirty years. She started her career at Christian Dior and worked as a Colour Chemist in the Powder R&D Laboratory for seven years. She then continued her career as Makeup Chemist within Coty Makeup Lab Research for three and a half years. She then moved to Florida in 2000 and is currently in charge of the Makeup Lab as Director at Yanbal International. Veronique is passionate about makeup and the world of colour, taking inspiration from her trips around the world and the diverse people she meets and works on a daily basis.
